Facebook Messenger Integration
Centralizing Facebook Messenger inside the Tawk.to omni-channel inbox, so agents reply in real time without switching tabs or platforms.

Overview
Messenger conversations, centralized with every channel.
The Facebook Messenger integration centralizes Messenger conversations inside the omni-channel dashboard. Agents respond in real time without switching tabs, with tagging, assignment and history built in.

The challenge
Messenger lived in separate apps, so messages slipped through.
Businesses on Messenger often juggle multiple apps to manage conversations, which leads to missed messages, slower responses and inconsistent support.
- 01Agents losing track of Messenger messages across separate apps
- 02No central analytics for Messenger performance
- 03Time wasted toggling between dashboards
- 04No tagging or assignment in native Messenger
What users needed
- One inboxHandle Messenger next to chat, email, SMS and social.
- Easy setupConnect a Facebook page without technical setup.
- Right routingTag, assign and prioritize Messenger conversations.
- History and analyticsSee response times and engagement alongside other channels.

How I approached it
The solution
From connecting a Facebook page to threading, tagging and assigning Messenger conversations, everything stays inside one familiar inbox.
Outcome
Messenger became a first-class channel in Tawk.to, managed with the same tools teams already knew.
The design goal was to make a new channel feel unremarkable in the best way: Messenger slots into the existing inbox with tagging, assignment and history, so agents never think about which tool they are in. It shipped into the live product.
